2011 Winning Team - ”Esperanza: Cultivating with Compassion”
Create a sustainable social enterprise in Panama
This is a competition where you will sign up as an individual and particpate on a team. Teams will be determined on the November 13 kickoff. On this date you will begin working with your team to develop an idea for a social enterprise. Teams will compete to win:
- All Expense Paid Trip to Panama (The winning team will work with Dr. Kori Gregg as part of your independent study to develop a detailed plan for the enterprise and trip. The schedule for the trip will be determined by the team.)
- $1,000 Scholarship for each team member

What is a social enterprise:
An effort that uses market based strategies to achieve a social purpose.

All participants are required to attend the following sessions:
Sunday November 13 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Project kick-off and find out who is on your team. Workshops to help your team develop an enterprise led by the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour.
Wednesday November 16
5 minute presentations.
Friday November 18
Special evening event to announce the winners of the GEC and other Global Entrepreneurship Week competitions.
*There will be other opportunities during these weeks that mentors and advisors will be available to support your efforts.
